Meet the Maker

Meraki Nest is absolutely thrilled to welcome Kate Sloan of Purl to the team.
Kate is an artisan of all things knitting and crochet.
Living in the small Victorian town of Killarney -which is situated on the Belfast Coastal Reserve - Kate’s inspiration is only metres from her door! In Kate’s creations you can appreciate the influence of the colours, sounds and ever-changing seascape she calls home.
Most of the wool used in Purl designs has been sourced from White Gum Wool in Tasmania. This wool is sustainable and humanely farmed fine grade Merino. Kate is committed to only using Australian wool and Fairtrade yarns and fibres.
Kate has recently begun dyeing her own yarns, and is experimenting with botanical dyes, extracted from plants and trees grown in her own garden.
